For our visitors with disabilities and impairments
The Nevada County Superior Court makes every effort to meet
the needs of citizens with impairments or disabilities.
- Website: You may change the

- Parking: Several handicapped only parking spaces are available
and are located adjacent to the building on the corner of Pine
and Washington streets.
- Wheelchair Access: An exterior ramp is available between the
Pine Street parking area and the main entrance on Church St. Once
inside the building, both a stair lift and elevator will get you
to your destination on any floor in the courthouse.
- Auditory Impairments: Each courtroom is equipped with a Phonic
Ear® Personal FM System. The wireless receivers will allow
a person to sit anywhere in the courtroom and hear the proceedings.
Persons who do or do not have hearing aids may use them. Should
you wish to use this assistive listening device, just ask the
court attendant or bailiff.
- Visual Impairments: Individuals with severe visual impairments
or who are blind are encouraged to bring an assistant. Some signage
in the courthouse is available in Braille and designated computers
in the Public Law Center and Law Library are equipped with magnifying
software.
- Accommodations: If you have business at the
Courthouse and require accommodations (such as as assistive
listening device or a sign language interpreter) due to a
disability, please contact the Court at (530) 265-7209 at least
two weeks in advance to ensure the availability of the
